In the 2026 grant funding round WBS Charitable Trust awarded $2000 to Sustainable Wairarapa's pekapeka | long-tailed bat monitoring programme for new AR5 monitors. These monitors are super sensitive for detecting pekapeka movement! The pekapeka monitorsing group of Sustainable Wairarapa is looking to expand its activities, so more AR5 monitors is a great start.

Resilience is the top rural issue that can be tackled via electrification and on-farm generation. Farmers need credible information delivered in way that assists in decision making. Electrify Wairarapa is pleased to launch this series of community forums alongside our partners – Ministry for Primary Industries, EECA (Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority) and Powerco. Our host will be Patrizia Vieno who will describe her journey towards electrification that encompasses both the farm and her wool processing operation. Following the forum lunch is provided. There will be an opportunity for participants to talk one-to-one with experts.
